This is the 2nd year which OC Night Market returned back to the OC Fairgrounds, this was a fun weekend event which friends and families were able to enjoy an Asian themed food fair from May 8-10th. This year’s event was much better organized than last years, the food vendors were in the same area & wasn’t so spread out as it was before.
Be sure to bring cash as many vendors only accept cash & it was a hassle to find an ATM machine & have to pay the extra fees to use one. We were able to sample so many different food vendors & also enjoy many of the vendors that had so many different things to offer. One of my favorite dishes was at Dem Sao, which offered the grilled BBQ squid, which was so delicious because they grilled it right there on the side of the vendor’s tent. I try to stay away from fried foods because they’re usually so heavily battered & oily that makes me break out in pimples so easily.
Lee’s Taiwanese cuisine offered food which you would see at Taiwan’s famous night market; which included the MC singing karaoke as he sings out the numbers of orders. This reminds of the night markets in Asia, where vendors are yelling out about their foods. Main Squeeze drink stand had various fruits drinks in mason jars with cool little plastic ice cubes which lit & blinked as you slurped away your drinks. @MainSqueezeOC
Interestingly shaped Ice Cream Cones was at the Uniqcone booth, located @E25. http://www.uniqcone.com/Toyota was a huge sponsor at this event; they had a spinning wheel game where after entering your email info at their kiosks, you could win $5 vouchers which you can spend at various vendors listed on that voucher. You were also able to check out the new Toyota sedan & SUV models they had on hand here too. There was a lot of entertainment on the main stage which included performers which sang, played instruments, etc..
