This years’ LA Wine Fest 10th Anniversary was located on the Raleigh studio & it definitely did not disappoint because it was even bigger & better than last years’ event with even more wineries, vendors and breweries.
Last Sunday, March 15th I had the privilege of attending the Family Winemakers of California’s first Southern California Tasting at Fairplex, Pomona. Almost 100 small, family-owned wineries, from across California. I love that the focus of this event was on small, Southern California family owned wineries. Below are reviews of my favorites out of all of the wineries which I had tasted for this event.
Carlisle Winery & Vineyards poured some interesting wines:
This was the 1st annual tasting in Pasadena for the Family Winemakers of California for both the trade and consumers (for the 1st time) featured small, family-owned wineries from the state’s most acclaimed and up-and-coming wine regions.

Medium-bodied and superbly structured, intense berry and mocha flavors lead to an impeccable finish with balanced acidity and tannins.

RED BORDEAUX BLEND
55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Petite Sirah. Lovely, sweet, jammy. Lighter on its feet than the other wines.
full bodied and only moderately tannic with beautiful structure and strong fruit. The flavors are complex, and the finish is long and satisfying. This wine is extremely versatile, light enough to accompany any lunch fare, yet a perfect companion to pastas, roasts, steaks and cheeses.
delightful blend is a fruit forward, polished wine with well integrated oak notes.
