Savor Santa Ana is a great concept and a fun way to explore all the different restaurants in downtown Santa Ana, many of which I haven’t been too. We were given a map & some food tickets, 2 drink tickets, and VIP wrist bands to sample the local restaurants; even 4th street Market that were participating in the event.
The 21st Annual Long Beach Grand Cru public tasting event raises funds for the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles to help aid more than 34,000 people, including 13,000 children, in poor and low income households endangered by domestic violence, slum housing, lack of access of food and medical care and other effects of poverty.

Salmon Tartar: 4 stars Salmon & dill was very fresh in this dish & presentation was very nice for this dish but it needed more sauce/dressing on the salmon. Putting the salmon on top of the peppercorn lavosh made it dry.

I came back to the Playground for a redemption dinner because from what I can gather, Jason Quinn is someone that you cannot help but admire because his passion for food shows in his dishes. He is willing to take a chance to try out new things & push the limit in experimenting on new dishes to see what works & what doesn’t work.
This was the menu of what we had for this dinner because the menu changes every night.
