626 Night Market features over 200 food, merchandise, crafts, arts, games, music, and entertainment attractions in one jam-packed weekend of festivities that appeals to all ages. 626 Night Market aims to unite and empower the community by serving as a platform for showcasing local entrepreneurs, businesses, artists, and talent.

In the spirit of the year’s theme “Welcome to your night market” to showcase local talent and encourage community participation, the following are the special events and highlights happening at 626 Night Market this August: Studio Ghiblithemed Art Walk In honor of the amazing stories and animation produced by Studio Ghibli, participating artists will create special pieces dedicated to the filmography of famed Japanese director and animator Hayao Miyazaki (The Wind Rises, Ponyo, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, My Neighbor Totoro). Fans will be able to purchase these exclusive artworks at 626 Night Market.
Shannon Lee Meet & Greet Saturday, August 8th from 710pm. Meet Shannon Lee, actress, businesswoman, and daughter of famed martial arts film star Bruce Lee. Shannon continues the legacy with Bruce Tea, a new line of iced teas based on her father’s personal tea recipes for wellness and performance. Shannon invites fans to the Bruce Tea stand, where they can meet her, take photos, and sample the tea.
DANakaDAN Saturday, August 8th at 9pm. Headlining the entertainment acts is DANakaDAN, an alternative hip hop artist and rapper based in Los Angeles. Dan Matthews is also the Director of Productions at International Secret Agents, an Asian American media network founded by Far East Movement and Wong Fu Productions.
Cosplay Contest Sunday, August 9th at 8pm. Hosted by model/actor/fashion blogger duo Peter Adrian and Yoshi Sudarso, cosplayers will also have the chance to compete in different categories for prizes. Attendees are encouraged to dress up as characters from their favorite anime, manga, comic book, or film throughout the entire weekend.
Short Film, Vlog, Screenwriting and Photography Contests In support of the arts, 626 Night Market invites attendees to compete for cash prizes while showcasing their talents. Creatives can compete in any or all of these contests with the picturesque night market as the backdrop. Filming and photography will take place onsite at the August event. Winners will be announced for the September event.
